What is the "Black American experience" in your opinion? I"m sure that means racism and discrimination to you correct? That isn't what is means to me. Black American experience would mean Black American culture/ethnicity/history --- and everything that comes with it. Meaning it's more than having Black skin -- and being seen as Black.
That's different from region to region, hell we don't even have the same religion in certain places. Didn't even have the same music, say when hiphop was booming in NY, that was a NY culture of the youth.

This shyt is too complex to just draw some simple x, y, z definitions.

Her father is Jamaican and her mother is Indian. She is both Jamaican/black and Indian American since she was born in the states. She is not passing for any bodies white. So I don't understand the point of challenging her "Black Americaness". Just to clarify I call ADOS African Americans and I call our brothers and sisters from Africa/Caribbean/South America who were born or live here Black Americans.

Her Dad is actually mixed 50% Irish.

I wanna see her ancestry.com results. I doubt that she's more than 25% African. Every Jamaican ain't from Africa.

Even more important than her lineage, is her track record. Her record on dealing with Black people as a prosecutor, is not good. What good is having a black person in office, if they're just gonna do the same thing that white people do?

Her Father is 50% Irish & 50% Black Jamaican

In Kamalas defense, her mama, daddy and husband wouldn’t get reparations so I can see why she’s not sold on it :troll:
:dead:

What type of reparations do you guys want to see?

I've been giving this a lot of thought lately. I'd rather see TONS of money floated into low income housing system, investment in grade schools, and access to low interest business/home loans.

if we get checks only, that money goes right back into the economy to be circulated away from us.

All of this is true, but she still grew up with the black experience because she's black.

Racism didn't overlook her because her dad is Jamaican or because her mom is Indian.

She ended up at an HBCU and joined a black sorority.

I doubt you'd find much distinction between her and any other black woman who followed the same path. :francis:

Na
Have that same energy for Bob Marley, Biggie Smalls, Marcus Garvey and Usain Bolt then. Y’all won’t though :yeshrug: What’s the difference between a black baby growing up in the US with black parents and a black baby growing up in the US with Nigerian parents? Both are black kids and both are going to be socialized as and treated as blacks in America. With this logic you just invalidated Obama’s entire Presidency.
It’s also about class

She may not be a descendant of chattel slavery here in the states but she is still a black woman here in the states. Anyone minimizing her personal experiences regarding racism and prejudice is wrong.

Yall realize you can be black w/o being ADOS right. Its like saying an Irish American cant speak for White Americans. Clown shyt. And we wonder why we WS is gaining steam. We busy fighting each other:mjlol::mjlol:

It certainly didn't overlook her, but much like with Barack Obama, the circumstances in her life allowed her to avoid most of it.

She deals w/ prima facie prejudice, but the systemic effects of anti-Black racism have largely been avoided by her.

So your argument makes no sense. So who is Kamala supposed to serve if you just said someone who isn’t ethnically ADOS can represent you nor could someone who is socialized ADOS but not a descendant. This means she’s has no true place whether here or in Jamaica. What is she supposed to do then?
I think she can only represent Indian/Jamaican mixed people's interests. somebody in this thread said she should take it up with "all ten of them".

Nah. But, we can agree to disagree. Obama got elected because of Michelle being ADOS. If it would have been a non-ADOS or a non-Black person -- he would not have gotten elected.
the irony in this false statement being that if we replaced Michelle with a Kamala during BO's campaign he would have still won
