I tell people all the time if the story had exchanged the main character's oil business for a coca farm this movie would be a gangster movie classic. Plainview was 100% about his paper and gave no fukks about anything else.

it is boring. i watched that shyt when it came out cause of the hype it got. one of the most boring and difficult movies i've ever seen to get through. shyt was basura. cac type movie. i doubt any black folks were in it. and i doubt any black person enjoyed it.

Anyway, I love it. Sure it's not a popcorn flick, but def one of my favorites. Everything doesn't have to be mindless or simple entertainment breh. And implying that anything that may be complicated or difficult is a "Cac type movie" that black people can't enjoy

well there you go. like most people i watch movies for fun. not as a character study of some cac. if i wanna see character studies, i'll watch one about my own people. like X.
Breh what happened to a good movie being a good movie, whether it's about a fictional white man or a nonfictional black man? X and There Will Be Blood are both great flicks, it doesn't have to be a white thing or a black thing, it should be about quality. And I'd argue that watching a good movie, regardless if it makes you think or is mindless entertainment, is always fun.
