Naw naw naw, you're saying she's better than all of these women who've left a legacy music-wise, who's copying Mariah?

What run sir, I was a gleam in my pop's eye when she was relevant musically breh outside of All I Want

I'm not gonna lie and act like Obsessed isn't a great song, but outside those two what's her legacy?

She divorced Nick Cannon and dissed Eminem years ago, so what

And second of all, Nat King Cole's Christmas Song is the best holiday song out there

and Mariah hasn’t left a legacy?

Yikes! You all of 20 so you don’t know but I just posted a collage of her 90’s albums

Mariah in the 90’s was a force to be reckon with. She had the voice, songs and albums. On top of that, she was a great live performer.

All you gotta do is listen to those albums and see what I’m talking bout

Mariah in the 90’s was the truth

Her pivot to black folks and specifically Jermain Dupri in the late 90's gave her a big lifeline. That america's sweetheart image she had early on ran it's course and she was finna be up out of there.

Yup.

Rocking with Puff and JD meant that she could walk away from Tommy (and that marriage) and extend her career well into the 2000s — especially during/after her meltdown.

She knew that formula of throwing rappers on her tracks and doing those remixes was pure gold because there’s no way she could strictly do pop and compete with a Britney/Christina by the early 2000s

I wouldn’t go that far, but she’s one of the best. I don’t think anyone else has had as many pop classics as well as hip hop hits, as she has.

She did it bigger than Whitney. Of course Whitney is a better singer but what they did was give her everything that Whitney should’ve gotten.

I’m even listening to her Christmas album with the full orchestra behind it.

Not to say that her songs weren’t :ohlawd: status … they were …

They spent money on her like crazy.

Mmhmm

Whitney had the vocal power but a horrible decision maker and her career had to be carefully managed during her apex.

Even when shīt like her OD during Waiting to Exhale happened, her people made it look like nothing occurred. She fumbled a chance to cross over into the film world and stay there. At the same time, Mariah was cranking out hits with ease.

The Whitney we saw on stage was well manufactured, coddle but also enabled. Then Bobby got hung out there as a scapegoat because he didn’t give a shıt

Her run of hot 100 hit songs is unmatched by any solo artist.

She's spent the most weeks of any artist at number 1 and clears 2nd place by 17 weeks and 3rd place by 26 weeks
