Please stop!!! If you have any android phone running ICS android 4.0 or above. Rooting is overrated. If you own an old phone that came with gingerbread then root and run a custom rom. Remember when you root and run a custom rom you will spend all your time repairing it and bring it back to normal :merchant:

People used to root their android phones because of bloated skins from the manufacturers. Blur is now bone stock outside the icons. Sense is semi bloated. Touchwiz is fast. You can disable bloatware now with ICS. Android right now is ahead of the dev community. If you are running ICS on your GS3 or One X and you have no issues leave your phone as is. Go to the playstore and grab a jelly bean launcher. You can get the stock experience by using apps from the playstore. Google now is not enough to brick your phone or to void the warranty. I see people rooting and running custom roms on their nexus 7 :childplease:

Android out the box is great.....:stylin:

Rooting means more options which is what makes android great.

more options like what exactly?? :snoop:

People need to support app devs and stop trying to get free apps :snoop:
yall complain about the iphone users but they actually support itunes and buy apps. Google is feeding us great cheap products and yall still dont want to support smh.

1. you can already side load apps
2. free tethering with foxfi
3. get rid of bloatware
4. get a stock android experience via customizing

:wow:

I've had no reason to root my Nexus, when it had ICS and now JB. But that's probably because it came with no bloatware from the jump.

nexus is in a different league. People hear the word root and run to root their device when they can do the same thing without rooting it.

Some people like options.

You are the android user I hate, the ones who feel like everyone is after the same thing. You bytch about sense and other customizations, but some actually LIKE those things. My girl actually does not like the stock android experience...she is used to sense and wants to stick with that.

Is she wrong? That's not to the way to look at it. I am not sure why you just don't go back to the iPhone...you with your narrow ass scope of seeing things.

I don't agree. I'd take CM10 over the stock Jellybean experience any day. I also like to tweak aspects of the phone that do require root. I agree that the average user doesn't really have to root anymore, but us power users know what we're getting into when we decide to pull that trigger and root.

edit:

Rooting usually allows you to get access to the latest Android release earlier as well. I loaded Jellybean on my Galaxy Nexus the day it was announced since I was rooted. They said it wouldn't be pushed out OTA for two weeks after that announcement.

What are you talking about. Im the android user who says that android needs to get better at their design element and stop being spec whores. I always go back and forth with my love/hate for android skins. People are use to android skins. I see why they exist I just hate when they get in the way or dont make the experience better. I hate that the OEM are not using software buttons. I didnt say people want the same experience thats why skins exist bruh. Im saying people are rooting their phones and voiding their warranty for no reason. I rooted and ran a custom rom on my first evo because of the shytty battery and because of sense. I rooted my nexus because it took verizon 5 months to push an update that my phone needed (low volume, weak signals etc). U can customize your phone from the market to look exactingly how you want.

CM 10 is not better than stock android lol. CM has too many issues bro. CM is no longer necessary. Liquid smooth is a lot more stable than CM 10. Whats wrong with stock jelly bean?? ill wait

all those Roms contain bugs...its not tested by the carriers. You will be a guinea pig tester

Stock rom had my Nexus battery dying within 10 hours. CM10 got my battery running marathons. Not to mention inverted gapps, :ohlawd:

LG nexus is the first phone truly optimized for JB. You neglect to tell people the issues with these Roms smh. Dont tell me that CM 10 is flawless :russ::umad:
