I'm not sure what you're confused about. Floyd is a great boxer with zero MMA experience. Connor is a good MMA fighter with a "puncher's chance" minimal boxing experience. We saw this in their boxing match. Punk was a great pro wrestler with next to zero actual fighting/MMA/boxing experience.

So MgGreg's MMA chops would give him a huge advantage over Floyd in an MMA bout, but Punk doesn't have those chops meaning Floyd's boxing skill would obviously be enough to take out Punk. This is just simple logic.
