Just seen this term used to describe some 90s sitcoms and that one cbs show(was it the big bang theory?) on this forum. They're laughing at you, if those were truly "intellectual comedies" they wouldn't be on the air. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out, there is no big plot in it all. TV comedy is dumbed down, sorry about the spelling errors because I know someone is going to take this personally. Just stop trying to justify everything, people are bound not to like the same thing. Its lame
