Show was so boring, dry, not entertaining, or memorable yet you still watched the entire season fully through, and you are back for season 2 make it make sense
This is a banger. The writing is so tight and smart. Things makes sense. Information through exposition is important. There is a well done mystery. My wife and I are having fun trying to figure things out.
It's almost like the writers been lurking this thread and saw every complaint. Then, they corrected every one of those issues.
I wasn’t interested in this show because season 1 made me so gawd damn mad with no payoff, but I was told the acting is really good and it’s different from the first season. I didn’t read through this thread just in case I do get around watching. Is this season actually good this time around? Or is it still black torture porn with no payoff?

This woman asks like it pains her to speak the fukk up. Everyone even Pam Grier can be heard speaking clearly but her ass....and I'm getting sick of the pregnant fukking pauses everytime she has to talk.
And that damn quivering lip and bunched up fukking face expression she does is getting beside me. They should've got Shuri actress for this role.
overall better than season 1, which I didn’t finish. I just don’t understand the purpose with the overuse of the supernatural stuff. So HER brother were haunting other randos? They couldn’t look in the mirror because they were haunted by her brother? shyt made no sense at all. I like that there were some depth to both the protagonist and antagonist but it still felt superficial. Also, I didn’t understand the hatred the white cop had. She was about to get fired from the department and was ridiculed/hated by all of LA. Why did he feel the need to arrest her? shyt was weird and once again proves the writers obsession with constantly being obtuse with the racism.
The backstory also didn’t make much sense. He hated his sister for being forced to leave the adopted parents but wouldn’t it make sense that he FIRST haunted Pam Griers character and then the sister?
It's heavily implied the White cop was killing all them people but didn't geaux into.detail how he breaking their bodies up nor how he knew to hide Ms. Matt's body under the sink.
We can understand who killed Maynard because the white cop's voice was yelling at him as he was cooking up crack. Outside of that there was no explaination for the deaths, nor did they even want to logically explain how these bodies were getting broken up.
Who threw the father down the steps?
Did Kelvin kidnap himself?
Did Granma cut off her own fukking head?
This why I look at negroes who swear Black Panther movie was a great film. It's like negroes don't know shyt about great writing.and automatically if it's black orientated and black female led, it's a good show or movie automatically.
Too many loose ends and was flat out outrageously horrific.
Was great in the first half, started getting mid and predictable when Edmund kidnapped and killed the Black cameraman.
Cinematography on point. Score on point. Acting on point (except weak ass Sherbert).
I kind of like that they were trying to do a lot with the plot but at the same time they failed to be creative with explaining and just left shyt creepy to be creepy.
Like there was absolutely no reason for them to have Dawn take the boy away from the exorcism just to have him die in the back of the car. That should have been the moment she saw what was actually killing OR been able to stop it. What's the point of centering around the family curse if they can't have unique interaction with said curse?
And they should've kept Edmund from going full killer and kept us guessing who the monster/murderer was til the end. They should have dropped more red herrings with the white cop or something like that.
It got me to watch it all the way thru tho despite me refusing to go past the 2nd or 3rd episode of the first season....might even force myself thru it to make the cypher complete
