Trae Young came in this game 11 assists shy of breaking Bobby Hurley's single season assist record he set at Duke, he had 7 assists this game so he ended the game only needing to get 4 assists to break the record and coincidentally his next game would've been against Duke.


Also here's the biggest coincidence, Bobby Hurelys brother is the coach of Rhode Island - Dan Hurley. So he saved his brother's freshman single season record from being shattered.

Might have something to do with the committee. If you include the Big East with the Power 5, I count 5 or 6 people on the committee connected to a big school. They take care of their own and expect the small schools to be happy they made it.
