It should happenAye, this year is been a true happy point for the brand.
I'm legit optimistic about my Series X moving forward.
If Phil Spencer TRULY wanted to drop a nuke on the whole trolling ass industry...
He'd drop a check to one of the studios and ACTUALLY make Scalebound.
Imagine the internet breaking that would cause.

Brad Shoemaker of the Nextlander podcast interviewed Jason Ronald about the BC program on the most recent episode, and I'd recommend everyone in this thread listen to it. Some interesting tidbits about the recent BC dump:
There was also some interesting stuff about BC more generally:
- Although he mentioned technical challenges, the interview definitely makes it seem like licensing is the biggest issue when bringing games to BC. (That won't be surprising to most people here.)
- They started working on this batch of BC games earlier this year, and they compiled a wishlist from all the fan feedback they received (he didn't mention where but I'm guessing Twitter, here, and other fan sites). The list started with a couple hundred games, and the 76 that made it were the ones they were able to get licenses for. In some cases, they weren't able to figure out who owns the game, or there's a ton of licensed stuff in the game (like cars) that made it impossible.
- They were working on licensing deals up to the last minute, and some games were added/dropped from the final list of 76 near the very end.
- There were some games they brought in this latest batch that they'd been trying to bring to BC for years.
Also, at the end, Brad pressed Ronald about if this was really the last dump of new BC games. Brad sort of mentioned "what if MS buys another developer/publisher," as in, in that case could their games come to BC. Ronald did leave a tiny crack in the door--essentially saying you never know what will happen in the future. But he definitely made it clear that we shouldn't expect this. Either way, it's an impressive effort!
- Ronald described the games as "black boxes." They don't do anything to the code of the game itself and don't have access to the source code. (Again, this isn't news, but it's still worth repeating.) All of the fine-tuning happens in the emulation environment itself.
- Emulation is different on XB1 and Xbox Series, because the Xbox Series is much more powerful.
- When you run an OG Xbox game on XB1, you're running an emulator on top of an emulator: The XB1 is emulating the 360 environment, which is then running the OG Xbox emulator MS developed for the 360. So they did actually make use of the technology they developed in the 360 era. How crazy is that? (It seems like this might be different on Xbox Series, but they didn't get into details about that.)
- The Xbox Series platform was designed from the ground up to make backward compatibility easy. It's baked into the silicon. (Again, no details here.)
- FPS Boost doesn't work on all games, because some games have code tied to frame rate. But in some cases, they trick the game to think it's running at half speed.
