That's the point of their strategy. They don't really care if you buy an Xbox or not, as long as you're subscribed to their service. So when people with PCs ask why they need an Xbox - they don't, don't get one. When you subscribe to Game Pass you're doing exactly what they wanted you to do.

Gamepass is like a modern-day Sega Channel when you think about it. Something I would have loved to have back in the day but I had a SNES. I looked up the price for a month of Sega Channel and it was $15. The value you get with GP today is incredible for $10 or $15 a month.

Breh Xbox is the brand. Xbox Gamepass, Xbox Game Studios, etc. You're just arguing semantics . And at the end of the day, not everyone is a PC gamer so until their cloud streaming offerings get off the ground, you need an Xbox console to play the games.

I can't shyt on it. If I was a parent, my kid would be getting an Xbox. Well they would be getting one sometime in 2022 because I'll be damned if I pay a scalper for one. But for $100 bucks a year the kid can play whatever they want. Even their new releases. It's great for people on a budget.
