Of the one's I can remember it would have to be...

Chyna or the Mountie. Maybe Road Dogg or Albert.....

Once we get into the the 2000's I have a hard time even remembering all the people that won the damn thing, there's probably even worse example but I just can't remember them, LOL.

Nah. Say what you will, but this MF knew how to rile up crowds, was a super-cheating heel, and people couldn't wait to see him lose it. Warrior beating him for it was a great moment not only cause Warrior was over, but because of who he beat. HTM was totally useless after he lost the belt, but he was a heat magnet before he got it and during his whole run with it.

Now on the other hand, you had people like Albert, Ezekiel, Curtis Axel holding it and nobody gave a fk one way or the other.

Yeah but is that really what it's all about? Drawing heat? Especially when you go out there having shytty match after shytty match?

In 1987-88, workrate was not nearly as important as characters and generating crowd interest in the matches... whatever it was, crowds were invested in his matches. They wanted that guy to lose and he'd always find some way to get away with the belt. I doubt he got 5 star ratings or whatever, but that run worked and drew.

And let's be real, the guy he lost it to wasn't much greater in-ring, but it wasn't about that.
