Brehs who watch soccer consistently please explain this to me :dame:

Maybe it's just me but most of these teams don't put nearly as many shots on goal as they should. It looks like too often they are waiting for the perfect opportunity instead of just going for it when a lot of times you might be able to score after a shot on goal simply by a deflection. I'm not an expert just seems like to me teams aren't firing as much as they should be.

Shooting lines look alot different on the field. Most of the time in front of goal that shyt is a mass of bodies, legs etc. Also, with over aggressive play you commit to the rebound and players are out of position should the counter-attack pop off. Especially when keepers now are so good at distributing the ball. If im just shooting with impunity im constantly putting my fellow attackers out of position and I'm building the keepers confidence.

BUT good things happen when you shoot...so I'd agree. Only Spain can play tiki-taka.

It's the stage [World Cup], but also some shots just aren't as they appear on the broadcast. Football requires precise timing and these are highly skilled player that think about two plays ahead [i.e. they may have a shot, but IF they do miss what are the consequences]. It's a game of risk for them.
