Anyway yeah it's a running joke with Giroud and there's always that one guy on th french team that fans make fun of, Giroud's an easy target as he didn't score while being a striker. But he did a lot of work on the defensive side, iirc he had a big defensive play at the end of the game against Belgium

Yup, Giroud is great at defending set pieces too. Not ideal for your striker but with Mbappe, Griezmann, Pogba you can make up for it.

Griezmann has always played off another striker at Atletico, whether it is Diego Costa or Torres. It is not a surprise that France had to put Giroud in for him to work. Giroud , however is good in small doses. I have seen him play Arsenal out of the CL before like the game against Monaco i think and another group stage were his misses and red card put Arsenal in a hole. The man was brought in after RVP and he was given enough chances, way more chances even, by Wenger to prove himself but he really was better off the bench. In 2016 he went on a 15 or 16 game goal drought that effectively prevented any challenge in a weak PL season. I think he is good in small doses but not a striker who could put a team on his back the way RVP had done in the 2 seasons prior and in the Man U title winning season. Sometimes there are players who work well in imternationals, Klose was a monster for Germany and his club career never really took off

that's how i feel. i liked him being in the squad, but never liked going into the season with him as our number 1 striker. i miss him and loved those worldies he would pull out of his ass a few times a season, but i love our striking options now.

Fekir pulling the strings could really help Mbappe, who was isolated when he has to play up top alone. France did well this world cup in terms of defending, but with as much talent as they have I would have loved to see them swag on teams more often. Only Croatia and Argentina really got worked by France.

Herrera barely plays and the problem isnt matic. The problem is Lukaku is laxy as fukk and wont make runs, lingard makes runs but is fukking shyt and Martial wants ball to feet and Sanchez is useless with limited technique. We simply dont have offensice talent like mbappe and Griezman who would walk into our team.
