Another thing to add, Jill Ellis did a great job with this roster. She was seeing the bigger picture before the World Cup even started. She was able to use this U.S. team effectively as they got stronger and stronger with each game. Even when most people were doubting her choices, she stood firm and knew how to utilize this team to it's potential.

Somewhat true. It also depends upon what state and city one lives in. I think LA or NYC would do a better job at facilitating these grassroots urban soccer programs for the kids, than Jackson Mississippi would. Soccer's popularity in the US varies by region. I wouldn't be surprised if the Southern US(the blackest region in the US by far) cares about soccer the least. Of course you have outlier states like Texas with a high Mexican population. Clint Dempsey grew up in Houston playing soccer with Mexicans. But the South as a whole is rather apathetic towards anything that isn't NASCAR, or High School/College/NFL football. The only non football sports folks care about in the South is basketball. And it's mostly Blacks down South that consistently watch the NBA.Basketball and football are by far more popular in the US. In the 80s and 90s they faced an uphill battle but no reason the USSF shouldn't start to do more outreach now. The game has lost a ton of the stigma it once had and with the NFL's issues it could make inroads. The US Soccer community have kept the game hostage for the most part, it's been a suburban game for far too long. Hockey can be expensive with all the equipment but soccer isn't. The barriers for entry for many interested in the sport has been an issue.
Invest in cities and educate the public about the sport and where it can take them. You don't need massive fields. Could just be small futsal pitches. NYCFC has been trying to get those in the city more involved.
we support winners brehLove seeing the same people who were killing Ray rice supporting Hope Solo. I can understand hating Floyd since he has done it multiple times and not really apologize, but if you hate ray rice and support hope solo, eat a dikk
