In all reality, the Germany vs U.S. Match will be good; but that passing tonight by China was atrocious, some of the worst passing and attempts at clearing I've ever seen.

That was due to the pressure that the U.S. was putting on them. The U.S. maintained that the entire game so China wasn't really able to establish a good offensive rhythm.

Ehh, I don't agree

Well, I admit for about the first 10-15 minutes of the game, the China team was a bit nervous so their passing wasn't good. Once they gathered themselves however, U.S. already cranked up the intensity defensively which caused more bad passing by the China team. China just wasn't in sync offensively throughout this entire match, which is a testament to U.S. amazing defensive intensity.

Can't wait for tomorrow's matches. I don't see a lot scoring going on here as all 4 of these teams have solid defense play. The match that I'm looking forward to is the one between Japan and Australia. Japan has been a tactical machine throughout this entire World Cup so far. Not to mention, they score really early which puts pressure on the opposing team. Australia on the other hand has been a real surprise. I didn't think that they would shutout Brazil but they managed to get it done. I think Japan will win this match but I wouldn't be surprised if Australia was able to eek out a victory.

The England vs. Canada match up is pretty even I think. Christine Sinclair hasn't had much of an impact so far in this World Cup. She's got to get it going, otherwise, Canada doesn't stand a chance to win the World Cup. England has had a solid showing throughout this World Cup. Their offensive set pieces are really good and they have a strong attack frame. Not sure if they'll be able to break through Canada's defense but I feel right now, they're much better than Canada offensively so I'll give England the edge here 1-0.

And that is game! I have mixed feelings about this match. The USA without question, played their best soccer in this match but, still, they aren't the offensive juggernaut I know that they can be. Once again, their defense is impeccable! Can't say enough of about that. Amy Rodriguez and Carli Lloyd gave the US some great offensive opportunities. I think Amy should also start the next game against Germany as her and Alex Morgan complimented each other really good.

And so the two best teams meet in the tournament: An unstoppable force vs. an immovable object!:wow:

This. the US attack is going to be even better with Rapinoe and Holiday back. I agree that Amy and Morgan should start as well...but Alex gotta take more chances if they are gonna have a shot at winning.

Real talk though, has a defender ever won the Golden Ball? Because Johnston is basically the Osiris of this shyt right now. Her vs Sasic is gonna be a battle to watch.

I think for the most part, Alex did pretty well against China. She was very active both offensively and defensively. She created scoring opportunities while taking a few shots of her own. I would say that she's 100% now. It's just a matter of her syncing back into the offensive side of things as she hasn't really practiced in awhile due to her injury earlier this season so she's basically easing her way in to see what works.

Although Johnston has done a tremendous job, I would give the Golden Ball to Hope Solo simply for the fact the she's the best goalkeeper in the World and her ability to stop almost any goal from multiple angles. I think that is the reason why the U.S. are a bit relaxed due to them knowing Hope is rock solid. That is a huge reason why I'm picking the U.S. to beat Germany. The US have found their offensive groove, they just need hone it in and really go after Germany as Germany will be attacking hard.

Hope has seen about 9 on target shots in 4 matches....:rudy: Thats a testament to her back 4 not her.

Lol, I feel you on that. Still, the shots she had to stop at opportune times have been impressive. One thing for certain, Hope will be put to the test against Germany as they're relentless on the pitch. Man, I wish this was the World Cup final match instead of semi-final.

The winner of this match wins the world cup simple as that....Canada will win today and so will Japan...and Japan will totally out class Canada...Japan is just sound...they remind me of the late-2000's Spain...where it was just so tough to find any real weaknesses in the team. Germany with such a high powered offence might get caught out on the counter and the US simply can't score. Japan doesn't really have either of those problems. :manny:

Watching the Australia vs. Japan match. Not surprised that it's scoreless after one half. One thing that hurts Japan is that they can be too technical. There offense has no explosiveness to it. They're the type of team that likes to score early as possible and then they play methodical to slow down the other team. Again, I would not be surprised if Australia was to pull this out as Japan has not had a break through game offensively yet.

Japan has the best passing game in this World Cup. Still, they don't have an explosive set piece so they rely mostly on quick passing to catch the opposing team off guard. Australia has played a great defense game despite playing against a much quicker Japanese team.
