The Wire stands above all.

I gave up on Snowfall after the underwhelming and dichotomous storytelling in the pilot.

Franklin, basically a complete stranger, walks into a drug lord's house... the first time they ever meet... and is fronted a key of coke. Just like that? C'mon man. That's bad, lazy writing.

And then his uncle's girlfriend just happens to have a former connect who might buy the coke from him and sets up a meeting... all in 24 hours?!?!? That TWO hostile places Franklin walks into and comes out beneficial without it having cost him anything or struggle for it. You can't have a dude win so easily without any having any cost, or struggle, or loss, or him not being changed at all. Just terrible television.

The other storyline, about the CIA agent who finds out that another dead CIA agent was selling coke to fund foreign insurgents and wants to take over his job, is much more interesting. But them telling two separate stories and then kinda sorta linking them together at the end of the episode is not good either.

That pilot turned me ALL THE WAY OFF ON SNOWFALL. I refuse to give it another chance unless given a compelling reason to do so.

You can say the same thing about Omar in The Wire.

An openly gay one man army who walks through the streets with a shotgun like he the boogeyman and he lives damn near the entire series? C'mon...

You're right.

But Omar is only part of the story on 'The Wire'. As compelling a character as he is... he is not the whole story. Franklin IS the whole story and it starts off too shaky for me.

Everything else works on 'The Wire', so we can forgive some unbelievability here and there. But when the entire story is built on an unbelievable premise. Nah... can't rock with it.

The Chi was the shyt with Jason Mitchell.

With snowfall you can tell they are running out of material.

The Chi has too many agendas, transgender girlfriend, first season policing was one of the main topics, second season featured no cops whatsoever, third season they brought police and cops back.

I haven't watched too much of The Wire, only episodes here and there but from what I've seen it seems more authentic and realistic. These other shows are kind of like fanciful.

Power is unintentionally funny
Snowfall is good so far imo but it doesn't compare to the wire.
The wire is the GOAT. Nuff said

The chi seems wack to me tbh. Maybe I should give it a chance, but it just seems more like a hood Dawson's creek than a crime drama like the other shows.

The Wire is on top ...and then it's like sky diving before you hit snowfall and then the Chi.

The wire is in a class by itself...honestly neither one of those shows are really on its level.

For what it's worth the person Omar was based on never died (but he did go to jail).
