How about this: The Russo's took the MCU from good to great, and if they aren't heavily involved with the next two phases, specifically with mutants/x-men, the MCU will suffer.

The storylines came alive on a different level with the Russo's because they weren't just trying to do comic panel to screen adaptation. I mean that was important to establish early on in the MCU, but they began injecting real current events and viewpoints that took it beyond what they did with the first Avengers films.

And with X-men, being able to translate relevant social issues is going to be paramount to integrating them into a world where superhero's are largely beloved and barely have use for secret identity. They need the same roll out that the Avengers got except the Russo's should be at the helm from jump.

Iconic fight sequences. Least embarrassing use of CGI

Robert Redford was a great villain in this as well because hes never the bad guy in his movies. Makes you wonder what his career would be like if he took on more villainous roles. He was in a dope political thriller called three days of the condor which was one of the main influences on this.

The best movies MCU puts out where it's less about the action, and more about the plot. I would say that Captain America is by far the best hero so far in terms of character development. While Downey Jr. is the heart, Tony Stark in terms of plot was a failure constantly, his Iron Man standalone were 'Eh', and he was always doing shyt for the wrong reason.

So when he died, I felt sorry, but I didn't get much of a emotional attachment than with Steve Rogers. Through his life in the movies, the payoff of him finally being able to retire in peace felt more of a "This is perfect." because his movies made you feel that he needed that and deserved it.

Black Panther had that was well, where you understood Kilmonger. You didn't have to like him, but through plot, you could see how T'Challa needed to make changes, to pay respect to Kilmonger and honor him.

Their heads got big with EG.

At the same time expectations were really high.

I thought you meant the character at first:heh:

Movie was dope. But it since has been eclipsed by Infinity War, Endgame and Wandavision IMO (arguably BP and CW too). That's no knock on the movie, just a credit to how much better the MCU got over the years. Used to be hit or miss back in the day (with Thor 1-2, IM 2-3 being misses) Now they got this shyt down to a science

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
Aaaah, yes. Captain America: TWS. My favorite MCU film. I loved every bit of it. There was a nice political thriller couched in there between all of the comic book action as well. These are my favorite types of CBM. And even after the battle was over, it didn't really feel like the good guys won. SHIELD was compromised and Nick Fury had to go into hiding, Black Widow's past was exposed and she's in a group of world saving super heroes, Bucky was still on the run & trying to figure out things, Hydra was still out there, and Steve and company still didn't know who to really trust anymore. The ramifications (along with events that happened in both Avengers movies) were still being felt years down the line until Thanos touched the ground.

And after this movie came out, I think Marvel saw Joss Whedon wouldn't be able to carry the overall MCU so they switched to the Russo Brothers which was in hindsight a great move too..

What a movie. What a year. 2014 was all around a good year for film in general. :wow:
