This is why. He wouldn’t be banned for any other reason at this point. It’s just a bad look for him not to be. You assault someone at an award ceremony and DONT get locked up because the person you assaulted refused to charge you then the least I’d expect is to never be allowed to come back. shyt you banned from the skating rink for fighting.
:pachaha:

Perception is a muthafukka...

Ultimately, it's really fukk the academy when it comes down to it...but he's probably going to lose roles that are for future Oscar nominated films, but he's probably gonna lose on some EP credits.

shyts gotta sting...I hope it was worth it.

I expected 3-5, and to get out in 2 on parole with good behavior...

10 is a bit excessive, but he did assault another man on live tv in good standing with the academy. They gotta go a little OD to avoid Chris from suing them. They also gotta show other hosts or presenters won't be subject to the same attack.

It was a pretty huge mistake. And, yes,, people have done much much worse but it wasn't live on a International broadcast in front of millions of people.

And yes the media will go overboard on this shyt for years to come.

I think the biggest thing we can learn from Will Smith besides all the shyt with Jada is TIME AND A PLACE MEANS EVERYTHING.

Someone was comparing what Dr. Dre did to Dee Barnes to Will and Dr. Dre's is a thousand times worse, but getting slapped up at party and an international broadcast will get you different results.

ANd honestly its on Will, simply cuz he's old enough to know better. He's smart enough to know what the fall out is going to be along with Chris.
Yeah, that's how I feel. On one hand, it's not like he got caught with narcotics or touching kids, so it's no big deal in the grand scheme of life.

But on the other hand... nikka you smacked a presenter in the face at the Oscars :damn:

And then dropped loud F-Bombs twice :mjlol:

A global broadcast of one of the most formal and time-honored events. And you have to consider the fact that this easily could have gotten way uglier if Chris Rock decided to retaliate either verbally or physically.

There's no way they could just give breh a slap on the wrist for something so out of pocket. I'm still tripping that he had that long walk to think about it and didn't change his mind.

Its like Ron Artest. I never heard of fighting in the NBA prior to Malace in the Palace being a problem. A suspension was enough to calm most players down but after you run in the stands and fight somebody, even though morally he wasn't wrong, something extreme HAS to be done. Due to the magnitude of the issue I'm pretty sure the governing bodies wanted to sweep it under the rug but you just can't when everyone is looking.
