All popular religions have really clever social conventions for people to rely on. “The devil.” :mjlol:

Will was invigorated with the rage of 1,000 simps. The “devil” didn’t have shyt to do with Will embarrassing himself.

It's what we've all been thinking. A lot of us here are old enough to remember when Tom Cruise went from just being a cool guy dating an attractive actress to being a weirdo scientologist jumping on Oprah's couch. He's had some movie success since then but perception wise things never went back to how they were.

Consider the Will Smith perception for most of our childhoods, if not all of it. Cool guy, black family, fun movie nearly every year right? And even street dudes liked some of Will's music lol. But think about the perception over the last few years and WHY it changed. Was it because he became less relevant in Hollywood and released fewer movies people cared about? Nope. Was it because he got hit with a scandal or controversy like many of his peers? Nope. The perception change has come entirely from his family, and mainly his wife. Who literally went on a public campaign to denigrate her husband's public image as a means of humanizing him...or as a means of empowering herself. I'm not sure. Regardless the end result was emasculation: confirmed rumors about a one-sided open marriage, his wife trivially discussing fukking another man, multiple pot shots at Will's character, multiple insinuation's about Will as a lover/husband/etc. And multiple emotional outbreaks over a dead rapper she was in love with...

We all saw this happen. We all saw the memes. We all saw the "entanglement" thing become a thing. And even before this, we saw how his children grew up. We literally watched as his underage daughter dated an adult man, and wondered "where are the parents." We're now seeing that his then-underage son was having inappropriate contact with an adult woman and asked "where are the parents." And based on Jada's free spirit, toxic bullshyt aura I get the impression she was fine with all of this. "Let the kids become adults and explore." Whether you want to call it the head of the household or simply the protector...it was Will's job to do something and it seems like nothing was done. What we're left with is a family that seems completely broken and dysfunctional, and a man who felt he had no choice but to do what he did to Chris Rock. I got no issue with slapping someone who disrespects your family, but it's bigger than that in this case. This was about all the grief that man has had to deal with. He is broken...

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Regardless if you think Will was right or wrong, if you blame this shyt on Jada there is something wrong with how you process things.

Every man is responsible for their own actions. If a man slaps another man, it ain’t his mamas fault or his wifeys fault. Jada ain’t do nothing but roll her eyes. That’s it. She didn’t make him get up and jump on stage, he chose to.

you can say whatever you want about her red table convos or her affair with August, but Will is a grown ass man capable of making his own decisions. He wanted to slap Chris. He did that shyt. And the way he did it so casually makes me think he has thought about doing it before the show. I bet he was already thinking “if Chris say some slick shyt again ima slap this muthafukka”.
NOONE is saying Jada MADE him do anything. But more like he snapped from all the bullshyt over the years. Somebody said it perfectly. The white man ain’t forcing us to do shyt in the hood. But they have systematically, physically, and emotionally put us in positions that push us to a certain point. And u don’t know what she said about that dude behind the scenes previously about Chris cause he been shytting on Jada since the 90s apparently.

This the point where people fukk it up.
"Jada is not worthy of being defended."
This thinking is as wrong as two left feet.
I'm not tryna write essays and shyt to completely break it down.
I'm not saying that because I give a damn about Jada. Jada been a liability long before 2020.
It's human protocol that ya'll are very aware of but are pretending doesn't exist.

I don’t think it’s literal. More a figurative thing. Basically she emasculated him so much to the point he snapped and felt he had to do something drastic.
I know what I'm seeing when I read y'all posts.
I've heard the phrase "attack dog" more in the last week than I have in my whole life.

They are definitely saying it’s her fault. But in regards to that other shyt, equating someone’s personal relationship to systematic racism is some bullshyt. Regardless of what she said to him behind the scenes, Will is a grown ass man, not a little boy.

He probably thought a slap in the face is a warning, but then the world acting like her murdered Chris on the stage. In a private setting a slap in the face would have been a warning. Will’s only problem is he did it during a comedy set, in front of the world at an award show. Wrong place and time. It’s got nothing to do with being emasculated

:dahell: Where do yall live that a slap to the face is considered a warning? Do you scream, "I demand satisfaction!" directly afterward?

Everywhere. A slap ain’t assault. A slap is a “check ya mouth or you gon catch these hands”. It’s a warning. It’s more than a verbal but it’s not a punch. Obviously you wouldn’t slap a woman, but a man slap another man, it’s not the end of the fukking world

So u can slap a man, but not a woman? Why? shyt is assault my guy. If you spit on someone that’s also assault. Just because it don’t hurt don’t mean it ain’t assault
