Surprisingly, I think Fat Joe had one of the more reasonable takes on this. Caught it on FB and wasn’t going to listen at first but I see it clearer from both sides now. He basically said, like Chris, he also wouldn’t have hit Will back because that night would’ve been bigger than his ego. I’m not a Rock fan at all but I don’t fault him for not reacting and I think it’s lazy to sum it up as him being a p*ssy. Another point was that since Will apologized to everyone except Chris during his acceptance speech, that may be a sign they had ongoing issues leading up to the slap.
I definitely don’t agree with the weirdos in here talking about Will should be banned for life and what’s pretty much a lifetime achievement taken away. It’s fine if you think there should be consequences but some of y’all want him ruined

Truth is, Will f'ed up. And so did the Academy. Chris holds all the legal cards right now, which is why he has been so quiet, and why the Academy are putting out stories that Will refused to leave, because them folks want no liability. I definitely don't want to see a black man go to jail, but if Chris decides to run them pockets civil lawsuit style against everybody, it is what it is. This is not the streets, Chris's joke caused a reaction he has to live with and that slap may cost Will... the Academy's lack of protection to do ANYTHING will cost them some money too... if Chris Rock wants to play it that way. I'm not sure he does though. I think he's waiting to see it play out.
