The oscars have had viewers tanking for years I'm pretty sure. I wasn't even aware they were on, award shows are getting increasingly ignored as many artists like The Weeknd disparage the Grammys, Kendrick getting snubbed, the oscars not featuring black people was a big controversy, Corona and other political stuff taking precedence over a bunch of celebrities patting themselves on the back.
