Will's speech bothered me more than the slap.
Like I get the slap. I'm married. I'm sensitive to any sort of disrespect towards my wife and it's just a trigger that goes off for most husbands, so I get why Will did what he did (even though my wife told me straight up that if I did what Will did she'd be more embarrassed than anything else.) Also, Will's been dealing with people talking shyt about his marriage for years and dude finally reached his breaking point. To quote Chris Rock, "I'm not saying he should've done it. But I understand."
But that Oscar speech. Good Lord that was cringeworthy. Calling himself a "vessel of love" and bringing up God and how "love makes you do crazy things" while apologizing to everyone but Chris Rock. Just peak narcissism that represents everything that people hate about Hollywood and celebs. If that speech had just been a simple, "Sorry Chris, sorry ya'll, I fukked up," I don't think the backlash would be as bad. But he was really on some, "I'm on a holy mission/purpose" type shyt with his speech that I really think was some clown shyt.
