If I am at a comedy show and so emotionally stunted that I or my woman can't be roasted without me fighting the comedian, then I should never be at a show a comedian is hosting.

That's literally an occupational hazard for a comedian. If they don't want the possibility of getting slapped in the mouth for a joke that they make, then they shouldn't tell jokes for a living. It's that simple.

You don’t get to decide how offended someone should be and then hide behind "but it's comedy!"

Cute response, btw. I'm glad we could converse without condescension.

Chris rock wasn’t “hiding behind comedy” though. It was comedy. He’s a comedian going on stage to give jokes.

You think Chris Rock has something personal against Jada and used the podium to say slick shyt?

why does it matter that it was at the Oscars though? Is it because it is a prestigious award show?
Some of y'all equate having any sense of pride in ourselves to looking for white acceptance. shyt is sad.

We can't have standards of ourselves independent of white people huh?

Not wanting the most famous black actor ever to also be the only actor to ever assault someone on stage at the Oscars? Wanting to avoid that can't stand independent of whiteness?

Y'all are lost.

I kind of agree with what he's saying. Jada is a public figure. Public figures are fair game for comedians. If they don't want to be talked about then stop being entertainers and get regular jobs.
that's not what he was saying or else he wouuldnt have included the part of her being able to stand up for herself.
