There's less black people in the west so I could imagine there's less barbers that know how to work with black hair

Yep. It’s because there’s not alot of black ppl here. Night and day from the south where you can get an A1 cut on every other street in some places. For like $20-$30 too.

I found one decent barber around me who’s not from around here either and gotta pay $65 for a fade and beard trim.

Cali has the fifth highest black population by number. Only Georgia, Texas, Florida and New York have more.

That’s just a byproduct of the sheer number of people in California.

Its a bottom 20 state in the terms of percentage at 5ish percent, which is obvious if you live there outside of the few black areas. California has similar percentages to Colorado, Kansas, and Nebraska which most people would tell you are CAC states. The US average is 12% so its got about half as many as usual.

I never paid more than 20 regularly for a haircut when I lived in NYC and thats with a shave edge up and all of that.

Living in Crown Heights there were atleast 7 barber shops within walking distance from my apartment. Brooklyn alone? Forget about it. I always had the fresh cuts weekly or eveyr other week.

Im out here in Denver...the only Black Barbershop i know at is in the city 20 minutes away from my apartment and its $35.

And they got Mexicans cutting Black folks hair too.

shyt is ridiculous. There really aint that many Black folk out here.

Yeah I lived in Colorado, had trouble finding barbers too. shyt is a desert for black folks.

There’s people that can cut but nikkas be cheap and they want quick cuts.


The best barber charge a top price.

You want a cheap $20-25 cut, that takes 25 minutes, cool don’t complain about the quality.

But if you want a dope cut that will probably take 60+ min, it’ll be 40+

Shouldn't nobody be in no barber chair for an hour unless yo head look like this
