What started as some suspicious friend unfollowing on social media turned out to be a bread trail to a breakup.

It’s a sad day for Abelena fans, the couple has indeed split. Suspicions started to run high when it was noticed that The Weeknd had unfollowed Selena’s friends and family including her assistant, her best friend Francia Raisa, as well as her cousin Pricilla and the father of her godson Jay. Selena and the Weeknd are still following each other but that didn’t cease the suspicions of trouble in paradise. The smoke from the fire got thicker when Selena was spotted out with her famed ex Justin Bieber. Over the weeknd Jelena went out for breakfast and attended church together.

Not to mention The Weekend recently got upset at Drake for breaking bro code by trying to get with Bella Hadid. So between the social media unfollows and Selena hanging out with Justin, we knew something was up and now we know that something was a breakup. An insider told PEOPLE magazine QUOTE - “She and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship. It’s been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn’t easy on them. That played a part in them getting distant. It’s over for now, but they’re still in touch. It’s been hard for them to come to the realization that this is the direction things were heading, but it’s been hard for months.”

The now exes were first spotted together in January sharing a kiss and spent a lengthy 10 months together traveling and PDAing it up on red carpets, but now that chapter has closed. Does this mean Selena and Justin may get back together? Or The Weekend and Bella?

Only time will tell.
