oh okay since the weeknd went pop is there any other artist making music like he use too

Theres a couple knock offs like JMSN but not really. I mean im sure you can find some indy artists but nothing of note. Even jmsn is just some white boy who was making entirely different music than weeknd dropped and he changed his name and music to shark his sound but its not the same.

Really there is nothing that similar personally.

But maybe youll like him

I dont know how you listen to earned it and shameless and call it anything except growth.

Album has his most polished singing and production easily. Vocally hes wayyyyyyyy past what he was doing on his early work. Thats growth.

Wether you like it or not is something else entirely.

Earned it is like the worst thing hes ever recorded lol. Im just saying that nothing on this really compares to shyt like the fall, king of the fall, xo, high for this etc. Its more oolished but the sound and vibe is not a step forward. I like most of the album well 3nough actualky but just because im a fan doesnt mean i cant criticize it.

the lyrics on this whole album range from boring to cringe, the production is cool, and the vocals are good when he's not disgracing MJ with his horrible impersonations throughout the album.

Earned it is like the worst thing hes ever recorded lol. Im just saying that nothing on this really compares to shyt like the fall, king of the fall, xo, high for this etc. Its more oolished but the sound and vibe is not a step forward. Earned it is the biggest song of his career for a reason,and its not because its the worst song hes ever recorded.

If you put earned it on as a song on one his tapes it would stick out like a sore thumb BECAUSE of how mature,polished,vocally and far ahead it is musically from everything else.

King of the fall is abel at his best, insane production, nihilist lyrics, stream of conscious shyt. Its a completely unapologetic track and thats why its dope. Aint shyt mature bout earned it, how is it far ahead of anything? Is him doin a song without an 808 suddenly make the track avant garde?

its all opinions man. I love his old shyt and his new shyt. I understand people that love his old stuff more. Hell I still do prefer that stuff. Those mixtapes were my lifes soundtrack for years.

And as someone who was heavy into the drugs/party scene listening to it the first time was like holy shyt this dudes singing about my life.

Could you really call this growth tho? Musically outaide of tyf its a complete regression for the most part.

How does "tell your friends" show growth? Because it's one of the only songs you like on it? it's probably the simplest song on the album, nikka ain't doing nothing but poppin shyt over Kanye production lol..

Shameless,acquainted, etc. show growth ...its mixing his old style and twisting it into a more mainstream appeal
