I've got a more love than hate vibe for this show. It's classic for being in the black sitcom resurgence of the 90s but alot of their eps teetered on c00nery sometimes.

Outside of Keenan and Damon, the other Wayans weren't really all that funny and alot of their jokes looked like they were trying too hard for a laugh...especially from Shawn.

Those mid-seasons had some great characters (White Mike, Dupree, T.C. & Dee) though in their own right so it kinda worked depending on the subject matter.

As far as I'm concerned, Martin is the GOAT black sitcom from that decade. TWB, however, is a very passable show that I still watch :manny:

Show was classic. I gotta admit there was some c00nery at times but at its core it was about a black family loving and supporting each other and you can't hate on that. Pops was a business owner. Shawn also owned a business and was consistently ambitious but maintained his morals like in the episode where he refused to be a high paid token at a company. Hell even Marlon turned into a successful actor who stuc to his morals when it came to the parts he played.

It wasn't c00nish but they addressed the c00n shyt in the world / entertainment business. The Job commercial, Marlon's role on Everybody Loves Everybody, the unspoken token episode, etc. the writing got better for season 3. The only gripes i have with the show is season 1, season 2, they wrote off TC, Dupree, Grandma, the last episodes were good but it felt like they just wanted to get the show off the air WB should've given them a finale
