If you nikkas actually read the fukking article, you would know Drake used a different sample cause the industry knew the nintendo one wouldn't clear, so he used that to his advantage to get his song moving quicker, which is also why DRAM wasn't on it.

Just shady industry tactics all around.

Did u read the article? Dude sounds more confused about it that we do lol. The internet said it was a remix. The song has a different sample, sound and content.

If its a remix please show us what was shakedown exactly

where people are getting tripped up is THESE SONGS DONT SOUND ALIKE. They just dont breh. I read the article you posted and the writer was confused as the rest of us. If you dont know the backstory and hear these songs back to back, you wouldnt make the connection. That's all people are saying. Drake prolly did snake dude, but you cant really tell if you just blindly hear the songs, which is why I was confused initially.

The writer did it in a way so he wouldn't get the run down by OVO.

Timeline

-DRAM releases CHA CHA

-CHA CHA blows up

-Drake is taped vibing to chacha

-Rumors of Drake hopping on Cha Cha arise

-Drake releases hotline bling on OVO sound (which original had "cha cha" remix in the tittle ) , drake was jus having fun with it, he wasn't taking the song seriously (same thing he did with Ramriddlez)

-Streets fukk with hotline bling

-Drake see's opportunity

-DRAM gets fukkED

And the rest is history

that in itself, deads your entire argument..

and, "the industry" knew nothing about it not being cleared.. the song was already getting alot of play.. it got dropped, due to sampple clearances.. something his team shouldve cleared well ahead of even putting the song out there.. all they had to do, was make some changes to the track.. instead, DRAM pushed another track that just didnt pick up any steam..

The internet didn't say it was a remix. DRAKE himself said it was a remix. When he first uploaded it on his blog. It had cha cha remix in the title. Mothefukka knew exactly what he was doing. Thats why he took the song down from his sound cloud.

Edit: And YES, the industry did know the sample wasn't going to be cleared. Cha Cha is literally a year old song. He been signed to Atlantic at the top of the year. They clearly knew they couldn't do nothing with it. Drake played the whole situation coy from the jump.
