Tough day for the franchise but it had to be done
What’s that next contract looking like? Legacy Kobe contract? legacy Dirk? Legacy Duncan? You think he getting Draymond money or less?
:jbhmm:
Anything over 15M they are throwing money away with the luxury tax hell they are in. I would hate to be the GM to make that decision. I see why their last one left.
:wow:

Idk what stats say, but Jazz an even worse version of what they were before the trade deadline so you gotta take that into consideration. From the highlights, it looks like Klay took smarter shots, but those are the highlights. I would say this performance probably validates their decision more than invalidates it - you can get him more possessions where he’s the fulcrum like what I saw in these clips. Win win

Russ didn't accept it until this season with the Clippers. All he did was pout about it with the Lakers.
To be fair, that’s bc LWO was pretty much a collective ass to Russ from top to bottom :yeshrug: Russ instantly hit it off with them dudes last season and he told everyone that would listen it was because of the better atmosphere there.

It ain’t like Lakers fans themselves know playing for that franchise, esp in the post 3 peat era, is like being in a pressure cooker. There’s pros and cons to that type of environment

Foh. :comeon:

When Vogel benched him one game Russ said his back hurt because he wasn't used to sitting that long. Dude acted like a complete dikkhead his entire time with the Lakers.

That competitive nature to constantly prove to yourself that you can succeed is why he's an NBA player in the first place

Very hard to shut that furnace off
Especially when he's not even that old. Dude was only like, 29? When he tore his ACL and Achilles. He probably feels like he's too young to be having to retire like this

Low key a racist performance by Klay. He clearly doesn't wanna live among the Chinese people.

He had a few abysmal misses in the last two minutes. late game seems like it'll always be tricky.

You got to ask players nicely whove been at a high status/level within the game but are declining like Russ and Melo. Like inception you have to plant the idea early and say its a possibility from the outset.

IMO Russ and Melo's issue with the bench was more that they were lied (might be a bit strong) too. Get told initially they'll be starters and then not long after it's :patrice: can you come off the bench. To a superstar asking them to come off the bench is like you're blaming them for the teams struggles and they'll feel some type of way about it. They dont care about rotations minutes and ending games being the starter has a lot of pride attached to it especially when youve always been a starter (also probably contract incentives attached) . As we know coaches aren't the world's greatest explainers when it comes to decisions. Players want to know why/reasoning behind doing something and how it helps the team. Being told you're coming off the bench and that's it end of discussion when you frame it like that of course a superstar is going to feel negative about it.

Dam hate to see elite players get washed like that.. Had a GREAT run, I can only salute:salute:

Facts. He was about to put the Warriors on his shoulders and kill the Raptors that game. I was rooting for the Raptors but Klay had me like...

:lupe:

I always felt Klay was the more ruthless competitor out of Curry and Draymond.

TYRONE GA!
I think they should keep him at a reduced salary. Don't see him really wanting to leave and he's set money wise regardless. Hopefully they can all ride out together....if only Draymond don't armbar Adam Silver at the rate he's going.

you know athletes are greedy though. doubt he takes a pay cut if a contender come knocking and is willing to pay more
klay can thrive on a team if he in a role similar to Ray on the Heat
