I don't have a problem with GPII. I like him a lot, as a player and a person.

I just want people to admit that Kerr strongly dislikes JK, on a personal level. It's not just about basketball.

Then he lies and gaslights us about it.

He DNP their 3rd leading scorer and 4th year lottery pick like he's a cancer to the team or something.

Everyone has strengths and weaknesses.

This is something else.

And even if Kerr did, he wouldn't be wrong in limiting his role/minutes when Kuminga does everything to prove him correct. It would be an entirely different thing if Kuminga deserved to have a greater role and fit in with the players, but he doesn't.

And I don't even think this is solely a Kerr thing, this is something the entire coaching staff believes.

Ultimately, the trouble for him is he can't really play in lineups with Jimmy. They're essentially the same kind of player, except Jimmy is the finished version and Kuminga has barely got out the blocks. He needs touches down low to get into a rhythm, but then that hinders everyone else and it works in contrast to the purpose of the system.

Kuminga post-ups aren't winning basketball, well, they're not at this stage of his career.

Who knows, perhaps one day he could be, once he develops a consistent jumpshot, but GS don't have time on their side with this current group to explore that.

Besides the Steph turnover bozo gene mutating at the worst time and the Draymond smoked layup, they needed to stop doubling Kawhi, they kept getting picked apart once it was 4 on 3. Once they went up 2 I would have just lived with Jimmy defending Kawhi and if he makes another tough jumper then so be it. They doubled and it led to Dunn feeding Zubac for an easy dunk.

kind of a problem:

1. there was no Sunday night to flex into because they didn't want to risk any game becoming worthless, so all the West teams started at the same time so nobody had an advantage. Basically if Harrison Barnes doesn't hit that shot, both teams would have started resting everyone in the 2nd half because then it woulda just been for the 5th or 6th seed.

2. ESPN didn't have an open slot at night (and in turn, what was the 2nd game gonna be, there wasn't gonna be a tripleheader)

They obviously had a plan not to play Kuminga, at all, so they were counting on Moody not to shyt the bed (which he did).

GP2 was good defensively for the most part, he just didn't have a good game at the other end, which can happen. He's been playing well on offense over the past month, so it wasn't like this has been a trend recently of him not performing. They counted on their most experienced guys and just couldn't get the job done.

Generating offense wasn't the issue for them, it was just incremental moments at the end which cost them.

- Steph doesn't turn the ball over by dribbling into a double team
- Dray doesn't smoke a basic layup, looking for a foul
- Harden gets a shooting foul when he was passing
- A clear shooting foul on Jimmy doesn't get overturned.

That all happened with the game in the balance, and that's potentially a 3-4 possession swing right there.

Honestly, not a warrior fan but just wanted to chime in. Props to you for calling it what it is. Its fukked up when people try to blame role players like GP2 instead of the damn stars of the team who fukk up in crucial moments. shyt is picking on low hanging fruit.

GP2 is effectively a 6’2 version of Ben Simmons. Won’t look at the basket (especially if it’s clutch time) so you don’t have to guard him.

The difference is Ben is 6’10 and can rebound and make plays. That offensive rebound and assist to DJJ was a big play in the game

If you can’t figure out how to get meaningful minutes out of Kuminga, even if it’s 8-12 minutes in a game like this, then that’s on coaching Every possession counts and Kuminga could’ve easily gotten 3-4 rebounds and 4-6 points just based on how active he is
