the yutes of today will never know true joy.

:gag::gag::gag::gag:@ family movie night being an evening on netflix
This. Streaming movies is nice for the sake of convenience, but there was something magical about getting to pick out movies as a kid at the local video store.
Also, getting to grab some snacks to go along with the movie was the icing on the cake!

The good old days...:wow:

Dallas, Texas but living in Houston, Texas
Throwback for real. I still remember recording Raw is War and Monday Nitro on VHS, renting VHS tapes from Blockbuster every other weekend, the awe of walking down the aisles and seeing a bunch of movies that I never heard about.

I'm happy we got Netflix, Hulu, Prime, etc. so I can watch what I want whenever I want but this shyt takes a brother back. :mjcry:

Believe it or not I'm old enough to remember when Video rental stores had BetaMax and VHS. I still have The Thing on BetaMax somewhere at my mother's house. I wasn't old enough to remember the fight bw both but I do remember we had a BetaMax player at one time and watching a few movies on it. Seeing how it went from VHS to DVD to Blu Ray and now streaming is/was amazing. I remember when DVDs first dropped I had to get every damn movie at the time and was at a Best Buy/Circuit City every weekend.
I still have recordings of Def Comedy Jam when Martin was hosting, Rap City episodes, Living Single episodes and tons of other shyt. I was just recording for the hell of it. If I sat down and watched them I'd probably end up crying. We grew up in an amazing time where TV was an event and everyone gathered to watch.:mjcry:

The struggle was real.....

I remember long movie VHS tapes being a hot commodity (more film to record on) ... I remember recording over 90 Monday night Raws and ECWs on that Schindler's list VHS (lord forgive me) that tape got the work from 93-96 :lolbron:

Like I said the struggle was real....
