PS3 launch price in Japan was the equivalent of 630 US dollars. It was 600 here.

So 40000 yen (430 dollars) should see similar. And with less of a hit since they won't be losing nearly as much on this as the PS3.

The price is actually around $430 so im assuming $450 US liquid is just lazy with the thread title. So im assuming that it'll be at least 600 dollars with 2 games and a controller(depending how much they cost)

That's about right 2 games plus a controller would be about $180 add tax which is 7% here and you get about $620. That's if the prices of games/controllers don't go up as they have with every other generation.

There's a big difference between 620 and 700 though.

Some places have higher taxes, plus the rumors say the system will be about $450. I used $400 for my calculations. Plus if the controllers have touchscreen a as they are rumored to have they will probably be at least $80.

I think it will be 60 for the controller. Retail DS3 is 55.

doubt it they want to see this thing at a profit, 400 will not be a profit. XB3 is a bit cheaper they will be able to hit that 400-350$ price range if they want sony will just have to offer a better in box solution if they want to compete with nintendo and MS.

they make up for it with game royalties and accessories though (most will buy that 2nd controller). That alone will prob make it profitable. We'll find out with their financial statements a year from now to cover the holiday season.
