I see your point and appreciate the assist but you needn't concern yourself with my style. I will not change my attire to conform to a store. I would ignore you as I do others if you walk up on me.

Perhaps I wasn't clear. When asked, I am either in line, carrying bags or looking at items myself. My point is attire is not the problem; it is the assumption that I, as a black man, work at a store as a default salesperson. I don't have on a name tag nor a store-branded polo shirt nor a headset. I have been out and am the only black person in the store and cacs, for one reason or another, instinctively ask me for help and no one else. shyt is subliminal and, in some cases, blatant. This ideology starts somewhere on a grander scale (too much to get into) but my point is this assumption is insulting.

It is my guess this has never happened to you and I am glad it hasn't.
