it's not one person. a democracy and a dictatorship are ideals. people think they have a democracy because they can vote. If you have 2 choices and the end result is the same, what choice did you really have? Money is freedom, money is influence, money is power. Money is above a democracy its about rights, its above everything.

electoral college makes sure your vote don't count for shyt (except on in local elections...and now money will matter more than the actual vote)

We're definitely a police state. America has the highest prison population in recorded human history which is fully 25% of the worlds prison population. Also nearly 50% of the people in prison are there for nonviolent offenses.

People doing football numbers for nonviolent drug offenses.

But if you got money, you can rape your 3 year old daughter and get slapped on the wrist. If you come from a big time family, (bush jr) you can take a country to war on false pretenses and kill a million people with no repercussions. well other than billion dollar contracts for companies you and your boys head up.
