As for the ring rust thing..I thought a guy like him would have several rings at his disposal in TX and could definitely train with any no names from FCW or some shyt to take bumps and do some 15 minute little spots.

Vince doesn't care about the internet audience at all. Not one little bit and he's been doing spoiler situations over the last year in weird ways ala the Del Rio title change on a Tuesday Smackdown taping.
It's kind of weird no one would even hint at wanting to stop Taker's streak and try to be a legend of some sort.
they should have had him come back at a rumble and win..anything else is unlikely to be a good build with his schedule..
honestly..im sick of taker..and i was a few years ago...sure he still put on some good matches since but im just tired of the aura gimmick..the comeback for when he helped Kane is a perfect example...that was ludicrous...
but back to the beginning...taker, if he is going to lose, has to lose to a champion then retire...otherwise the streak gets cheapened..
he should have won the rumble..faced rock for the belt..won against rock then retired to vacate and set up a triple threat match cena/punk/rock or lost vs rock then retired

There was alot of internet kids who wanted the Taker/Lesnar match...they still would over the rematch with Lesnar/Cripple.

It's been said to be, but it literally makes no sense aside from that Heyman promo talking about distancing himself from Punk because a dark cloud looms over him.
To me it makes much more sense if they do a Taker vs. HHH vs. Brock triple threat after Brock dismantles HHH on Raw then you have Taker come to make the save, HHH says he doesn't need Taker so on and so forth.
Also limits the work Taker has to do.

Undertaker is one of the last pro wrestlers in the world who needs a paycheck. He comes back because Vince knows he's a WM draw. Before Rock, Taker was who they ran to to carry that show...Cena was pushed back for years over the Streak stories.
