My bad, it was Bethesda that said that.

"First, let me say that we’re not making any landmark announcements or changes right now. As we’ve all shared, the expectation is that Bethesda Softworks and our studios will continue as we have in the past, just with more support and resources than we’ve ever had before. Obviously, Game Pass has been an important initiative for Xbox, and we’ll be working on putting even more of our games into Game Pass than ever before. Beyond that? Stay tuned, we’re just getting started together."

Even that doesn’t say future games would be multiplat.

It says they will have more to share later.

When was Starfield initially announced? Thats right, back in 2019. Well before this purchase in 2021

Edit: It was actually in 2018.

Sure. That’s the point.

It was also offered to allow Sony to put it on its subscription services, but sony surely wouldn’t want to pay the money to make that happen.
This is the end game for Microsoft eventually they want gamepass on everything like windows

Aight bro. A company who’s released Skyrim across 97 different platforms didn’t intend to release Starfield on multiple platforms.

:stopitslime:
I never said they didn’t intend to.

What i said was they never said it out loud, therefore they couldn’t have “lied” or changed their story on where the game would eventually end up.

Sony was trying to negotiate an exclusive deal for the game.

There is a scenario where microsoft could have chosen not to purchase them and Starfield would be exclusive to PS5, and that’s why platforms weren’t publicly announced until they were.

Exclusive for how long? You really think Bethesda would have allowed Sony to purchase a forever exclusive deal for Starfield? The same Bethesda who's released Skyrim on 97 different platforms?

They said games would be evaluated on a case by case basis. Part of the reason they're in this mess now because there are seemingly no cases new games come to PlayStation.
:dahell:Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo both went to PlayStation first. Ghostwire Tokyo still isn't on Xbox.

At least a year, but sony has been known to extend those deals indefinitely like they’ve done with stuff like FF7R
