That's an interesting way of looking at it.
Yeah. Game is going well, folks playing, solving puzzles, beating levels (floors) NPCs are doing what they do.....
along comes Zahard and his guild (10 warriors) and their hacked stats and high end gear. Possibly a real life higher up is in the guild.
they run a train on the game. They get to a point that Zahard gets paranoid, blocks folks from getting higher than him (, locks the level higher than the one he's beat, 13 months, rings of Zahard)
But he falls for one of the other players in the guild, who's in an IRL relationship with another member (Arlen, V). These two members want to go further, and hate that Zahard basically locked up the game. They work on another hack to break whatever hack Zehard has going (infinite health, etc. etc.....) since one of the developers just lets him run ransack.
Zahard shoots his shot, Arlen says no.
Zahard not only fukks up her game data, but he literally just goes AFK (zahard is.... doing nothing at the moment)
Another admin gets pissed, finds out who on the admin team is allowing this foolishness, goes and perma-bans said admin and locks the floor he's chilling on (Enryu shows up out the blue, kills administrator of the 43rd floor, wrecks the shyt, bounces)
V kills himself/quits the game (why else would Zahard give his woman infinite health, but not him), arlen wanders around with her child/hack plan/corrupted save data, prolly can't play, just wander around and sit in old guild spots (I've been there)
Arlen goes AFK,
Every so often, somebody finds the old hack on a message board pastebin or whatever, logs in with it (Irregulars like Mazino) and just show up to play around with unlimited stats.
Two people found Arlen's updated hack, and logged in with it.
One fukked it up, and could get close to it but never use it (rachel, a loser broad IRL who wanted to play the game, beat it and gain fame and fortune in the virtual world)
One did it accidentally (25th Bam, who's just playing the game and had no idea what he logged in with. An "empty" character that doesn't start OP but copies enemy skills).
Rachel did everything in her power to figure out how the new hack worked. But Bam got it. Rachel got base stats. And the 1st level NPC/First character that was created (haedon) even called her on it, but she was already in the tower, piggybacking off Bam's entry.
All the rest of the characters are either long time players or NPCs that can't move on since the game can't be beat, since Zahard, the end boss, has infinite health and is AFK.

Well, that's my take on it right now.
It's too much like a game, with levels and puzzles and bosses and character classes, leets and guilds and rares or whatever kids call them nowadays.
Powerful folks too proud to read a strategy guide, Hidden areas and all.

cause the main story shifted to version 2.0 characters playing a version 1.0 of the game cause the final boss left his saved data on the old game and it hasnt been deleted nikkas fighting cartoon octopuses and copies of themselves. trying to break into old folders on the hard drive. dealing with old save files.
Somebody gonna die of Dysentery at any second. In MSDOS. Zahard's last command to the tower was "GOTO 10"

I think the theory makes a lot of sense but without any spoilers, I'd just say the current arc makes me doubtful. When you get to it, I think you'll see what I mean but we can discuss from there.

I can't see how these guys except Bam can get near high ranker level let alone on par with the heads of the 10 families, they would need repeated DBZ-esque power ups.

The gaps in power in this story are HUGE.

Endorssi definitely could be a high ranker due to her being s princess, Yiwha, Ran, shyt i could see Khun also becoming one too, also Anak.
