Movies and tv shows
Temptations Leon as David Ruffin was WAY better than him as JT. Five Heartbeats had its cheesy parts and i HATED the kid sister.

But this i can sing the song just she does
(playfully, of course)
But then again, Five Heartbeats got Big Red as the bad guy...Damn...

dude was like the Debo of the music industry.

But then you have this scene:

You ungrateful sonsofbytches!!! (all in one word)

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
I love The Five Heartbeats but I cant see how anyone can pick that as a movie over The Temptations...Temptations is one of the best movies based on an artist/group from that era...the DVD version of the movie especially since it had scenes that wasn't on TV or VHS..the acting was better..singing was FAR better being that most of the cast could really sing in real life unlike the Five Heartbeats where the lip synching was damn near comical...lol..The Five Heartbeats was hilarious but it was a cheesy movie...it was basically a parody of what actually went on at the time and based on multiple groups..to write Temptations off as just some TV movie is unfair cause it was EXTREMELY well made...Stephen King's It was made for TV but it's still a classic..

nah, the dells

5 heartbeats by faaaaaaaaar
Y'all both wrong and right..it was NOT only based on The Dells..Robert intended the movie to be a comedy until he spoke to the Dells and they steered him in the right direction...but it is VERY loosely based on what actually happened to the Dells rather than what happened to several groups at the time..that movie was pulled shyt from The Dells..Temptations and other artists as well and rolled it into one generic story...I could see how people love the feel of The Five Heartbeats and for nostalgia purposes it's a feel good family movie...but it was FAR cornier than the Temptations...main gripe with The Temptations is it's from one persons baised perspective...so it's not exactly fair but it's the more well made movie imo..

Its a tie for me:yeshrug:

Temptations and The Jacksons movie are prob my 2 favorite music movies of all time. 5 Heartbeats is some ill shyt tho and especially the end when they all get back together at the cookout:to:

I swore that movie was based on The Temps before I saw the temps story and how many members they lost.

Def a toss up to me.

Temptations

Otis was a fukk nikka though and Blue is a punk..Blue didn't wanna kick David out regardless of his drug problem and Otis made him do it.

This. The only movie that was at this level was the Jacksons movie and that's saying something.
