dont take kobe words as 100% truth just yet. once kobe calls it. sure it obviously is his team. but he's saying that for 2 reasons.
#1 phil jackson taught him how to play mind games to get your best players to be at their best. some guys need to be clowned in front of everyone. other guys need their ego's rubbed. dwight is one of the later. he didnt want to come to los angeles because of the bigman legacy he would have to uphold. ego needs caressing. he didnt want to come here per some rumor about kobe telling him he would be his tyson chandler(aka a hustle guy and nothing more). kobe now gets it. make him FEEL like this is his team. and everyone will still know who's team it is until #24 hangs em up in a couple of years.

#2. he's doing something that shaq SHOULD"VE done for him but never did. hand the team over gently. dont fight it. you're getting older, the young boy is growing up and turning into a monster. let him grow.

Thank you. I been saying that for years. Nothing worse than an old fart trying to hold on to his crown. Shaq was a huge fakkit for that in hindsight.

Kobe wants to WIN. It's not about publically pissing over territory and trying to hold onto the "my team" crown. EVERYBODY knows what Kobe means to the Lakers. Every true Lakers fan, and even haters, know that Kobe has been a top 10 player in this league most of his career and always in a Lakers uniform.Hell, they know he at one time was arguably THE top player In the league in a Lakers uniform. There is no need for him to have defend what's already his. What there IS a need to do is WIN, and if WINNING means stroking the ego of the most fickle big men ever to play, then Kobe gonna do just that and give the to anybody who thinks differently
