Then you obviously buy into the idea of Selassie then what he actually stood for and the concepts of Pan-africanism, with all do respect breh.

Never said I didn’t buy into those ideas. My intention was to have a discussion on examining the last part of what he said and why these ideas haven’t been more effective.

You're confusing two different generations. The Baby Boomer aged Africans have their preconceived notions, as well as Baby Boomer Black Americans. It goes both ways

In the later years, the millennial Africans and millennial Black Americans have bridged the gap with Afrobeat culture, Hip Hop culture having more African inspired music etc. Also the first generation Africans were real big in bridging the gap

Your view is more optimistic than mine due to the fact that a lot of the Africans I’ve interacted with are millennials but I can respect it

Where do you live?

The South. All the Africans I’ve met have either been exchange students when I was at college or through the military.

Then let's discuss them then.

Bet. How do we as a diaspora start to align our objectives across geographic, cultural, political, and economic lines? I think the simple answer is aligning on specific causes as they come.

This year was a step in the right direction (which is why I do find the timing of his tweet a touch misguided, although I could see his point clearly in previous years).

Yet he made a documentary about 1804

lol

ya'll gonna learn listening to these bougie nikkas about concepts specifically Pan-Africanism
Previous talking points don't count. Yeah I know he's got a whole movie that he's still selling. Haitians (the first Black Republic) and the one's who funded the Bolivairan Revolution If he agreed to end Slavery, and the same country who literally gave land and Freedom to FBA people are "c00ns" Got it.

Which objectives would we need to align with.
