make it make sense breh, you talking out both sides of your neck unless that's where your peoples is from

Bro...me being a fan of how Selassie handled himself as a military general + his religious beliefs is not mutually exclusive with the topic at hand.

The kirk to the fields
This whole ADoS, FBA brings up some raises some interesting thoughts about race and culture.

Which connects people more race or culture? Does the average Black American have more in common with a black African who he (kinda) shares the same skin color with or with a White guy from the US who he shares the same culture with? :jbhmm:

Just because we live in the same country, doesn't mean we share the same culture or at least values.

But idk. I've met fresh off the boat Africans who I had way more in common with than cacs in my own city.

Hell, I've met foreign exchange student Europeans who I got along with better than American cacs...

but it's in direct contradiction what you claim to agree with.

Here’s where the problem lies...You’re taking my PARTIAL agreement to a certain part of what he said and using it to paint my views.

I do believe alliance between the diaspora is possible but to act like it has been fruitful thus far (hence the last part of what he said) would be disingenuous.

Y'all really hate Tariq. Smh
He said nttn that wasnt true
:francis:

It's these bytch ASS two faced, sneaky, plotting, turncoat, tribalist foreigners. These bytches will tell their kids not to associate with us, and will be the SAME MF'S who ask why they are being called out. They are exhibiting classic Cac behavior with their inability to CHECK THEMSELVESE WHEN BEING CALLED OUT.

Then you obviously buy into the idea of Selassie then what he actually stood for and the concepts of Pan-africanism, with all do respect breh.

Have you ever had a convo with an African about how they view us (American-born blacks)?

You're confusing two different generations. The Baby Boomer aged Africans have their preconceived notions, as well as Baby Boomer Black Americans. It goes both ways

In the later years, the millennial Africans and millennial Black Americans have bridged the gap with Afrobeat culture, Hip Hop culture having more African inspired music etc. Also the first generation Africans were real big in bridging the gap
