Great thread, great timing. I'm in the process of finishing up the Bhagavad Gita, it's making me want to take up even a quick 15 minute morning meditation session to help shapen the "one pointedness" of my mind

The best proven result of my Zen Studies has been in my exchanges with "bosses" at the workplace.......

particurarly those confrontational bosses...i love just sitting thier watching them flabbergasted because they don't know how to deal with you or find a way to belittle you and make you feel intimidated.....

and it makes them feel uncomfortble and SUBORDINATE when u react so rational and cool............

i remember one boss decided to take the rest of the day of and apologized the next day saying ..."he couldn't understand how he let himself get so upset.."

:mjpls: i knew why because all those silly managment classes and that title got to his head brainwashing him into thinking that his INSTINCT and AGGRESSION would be his saving grace.....wrong mofo :comeon:

and i just sit thier :russ: laughing at people like him letting thier emotions get the best of them....

like my ex who failed to realize that being REACTIONARY was the reason why life seemed more difficult for her.....

she would sit thier making angry comments to me like..

"and you up thier sitting around like u ain't got a worry in the fukking world"

you got that right byatch...... because it's NEVER AS SERIOUS AS THEY MAKE IT SEEM

they let FEAR AND IMAGERY AND IMPRESSIONS dominate thier primitive mind...

i love eastern schools of thought like Zen, Taoisim etc....

it's like the "I AIN'T GOT NO WORRIES" religion....................

very interesting, mane

I'm trying to apply a couple of zen/tao aspects into my life lately, and it's actually going pretty well...

I got a friend who's gotten heavily into tao the last 4-5 months

can you expand on what you wrote about tao, and dealing with heaux's?? :mindblown::mindblown:

5* thread ...i rarely come to HL because a majority of the posts on this board are senseless arguments, always infused with bias, which is enforced by the posters own needs to feel superior from one another by broadcasting an illusory possession of greater intellect.

but this right here is what i check for when i do come :myman:

C'mon on brehs show me the way :noah:

I need to conquer my anger :blessed:

Some things you can learn from books, but I recommend you find a teacher.

He's right, books can only take you so far, the same goes for a teacher.. The best teach is Oneself. Atleast as far as i understand it, The individual is both the student and master. We must attend to ourselvs and learn 'directly of ourselves' as we are - not as we were our as we should be, but actually how we are from moment to moment.

As far as anger, i think an effective way of dealing with anger involves braking the point of association. To isolate it, that is, to be consciously aware of the sensation of being angry, to watch the thought without association. This comes about when you see that anger can only survive if it is associated with something (whether its with oneself, others, a wall ect.)
