Nah, Gafford has showed up huge since preseason. He's definitely a good asset coming off the bench.

You got to win the games your supposed to win if you want any shot at getting to the 7th-10th play in. Add on the fact we probably got a lot of losing coming in the next couple of weeks and that makes this win even better.
Hopefully we can luck into a couple of wins in the next 8 games.

The talent is fine.
The bench is deep. The main issues are consistent PG play and Donovan figuring out what the rotation should be

Yeah, we gotta remember that a lot of the guys we have are players with 3 years or less of NBA experience, who played for bad coaches their entire career. You can always move parts and add new guys, but if you're trying to assess what you have, you can't expect them to immediately gel and look like stars. The fact that they're responding well to good coaching is a positive sign.
Gafford is a keeper for me.
He plays his game, doesn't try to get cute or do too much.
He is a good finisher at the rack, and he protects the rim and fights on the glass. He's a great fit when you have 4s that can shoot on the floor

do you think this team as currently constructed can be a championship team in 3-5 years
obviously time is needed for that assessment but I don't see that right now...I'm hoping for big time development from Pat, LaVine is nice, but I don't see him as the number 1 option (maybe 2...maybe), Lauri has played well but it's a contract year so who knows....WCJ at times has looked like he has no idea what to do out there & Coby can get buckets but that's more useful coming off the bench when factoring in his lack of pg instincts.
Like everyone has said, this is a project in development and if things do drastically improve, I'll be the first in here saying I was wrong, but as of now I haven't seen the flashes of a young team that will be truly challenging
