Nas in Makaveli mode would've been interesting. His drunken rants on the radio at the time were :russ: Some of his best work was on Lost Tapes tho.

Those bootlegs kept the streets fed for a while (without the bark gang, checking in) but his retail selection choices have always been strange compared to what he has on deck.

Yo @Pop123 @Ziggiy Sacred is the flesh was supposed to come out in 2001 too. What if Death of Escobar was his swan song out the industry and he was trying to move on to movies but decided against it at the last minute.

He said he was going to release three more albums and then move into writing plays and films

I always thought Death Of Escobar was the album that ended up becoming Gods Son. Nas was dissing the entire industry and spilling secrets and shyt and when he changed direction he had Salaam Remi erase the tapes so they would never leak

One of the songs was called “Crabs In A Barrel” and the one that was supposed to be especially heinous was called “The Toy”
streets disciples was always supposed to be built around songs like thief's theme and serious. Street singles. Thief's theme was out a while before the album dropped. Came out in the summer and the change in direction happened after that. It wasn't fully recorded. I've never heard it be related to death of Escobar.
