So it's not part of the Atlantic. It's connected to it. Just because two bodies of water share a border doesn't mean they are one in the same. The Gulf of Mexico and the Atalntic are VERY different.
The Gulf of Mexico is a marginal sea of the Atlantic Ocean - hence why I said I hope he gets washed out that far - to the point of no return.
