Great show. Always intense & nonstop entertainment. I hated how they wrote Vic's ending, they betrayed his character imo. But other than that, show was great. Only thing that takes away from this show is it had an episodic formula, unlike most of the 12 ep original dramas nowadays.

I'll say this........I don't see them ending Breaking Bad as good as The Shield. That show was perfect and complete from beginning to ending. Not many so called GOAT shows can say that. Its in my personal top 3 (really number #1 )

I have them about on par. The Shield gets way fukking overlooked, but my argument for Breaking Bad is that the shyt gets way more intense each season. It's pretty amazing how they do it.

I actually thought The Shield had one of the better endings of all the big shows that people liked on HBO, FX, SHO, etc. They had the balls to see it through, and the finale was pretty fukking depressing and I thought it worked very well.

I would say maybe one level, not levels, lol. Sopranos had a couple weak seasons and every season there would always be a couple eps where absolutely nothing happened. I love it, and it's the tv show that brought back the resurgence of great television, but I think Shield is on par with the Sopranos. But I also think that the The Wire and BrBa are one level above those.
