I was at this last game and you could feel the air come out of the building when the Jazz clamped down and stopped letting the Clips score - you could tell the fans knew when to expect the Clippers to start losing and give the game away.

DJ was gassed by the 4th and Hayward was going right at him straight to the front of the rack. and by the 4th when they had four guards on the court and fukking Austin Rivers was guarding him he was scoring at will.

The most egregious part of the experience to me was the Clippers endlessly peppy and bordering on corny game ops. The Clippers were down big for what felt like 2 and half quarters in Game 7 with the future of their team on the line. And yet every commercial break and time out had Clipper kids coming out and dancing, Clipper Darrell screaming shyt about 'Clipper Nation' and parachuting Clipper lanyards. Once in the 3rd quarter while they were down, DJ tried to come back on the court but fukking Chuck the Condor ran in front of him to do a trick dunk.

At one point in the 4th the Clippers were down 14 with like 6 minutes left and in the commercial break they're blasting t-shirts out of a cannon into the stands. The fans were groaning audibly over the sounds of Lil John screaming 'SHOTS! SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS!' but they were still trying to get those damn shirts off. The girl on the mic was even saying 'What's wrong Clipper Nation, you guys are quiet!' Like bytch the Clippers are about to lose the damn game, that's why their fans don't care about these free shirts that you can find stacks of at the Goodwill the next day.

I really feel like the Clippers organizationally don't understand the gravity of situations like being down in Game 7. They were totally unaware that the crowd wasn't going to go for the peppy bullshyt when their team was about to smoke off the game and lose AGAIN. They have no identity, and when people say 'Clips gon Clip' it's because they always will.

Bingo... this is all Steve Ballmer. All theatrics- laser light show- break dancers- but what about the product on the court?:martin:I've said this before the fanbase hasn't made that leap to 'rabid-ape sh*t- fanatical' because the team has never made that leap. I went to two of the Spurs/Clippers 1st round where we beat them in 7 and the fans were going ape shyt. Even all the way into leading Houston 3-2 and about to close them out with a 19 point lead going into the 4th quarter.. then the choke happened and the team and fans haven't been the same since. Then Blake and CP3 getting hurt in the same game last postseason against Portland to now where Blake gets hurt again this season, you look at this team like:gucci:. We still sell out and the fanbase is strong but everybody is shook to death- in the stands like:lupe: "Do I amp it up or is the inevitable about to happen". You're right, its like two different shows going on at the games. The theatrics in between timeouts and the actual game on the court.

Steve Ballmer needs to fire Doc and bring in a new coach & GM.

Ballmer was not about to come in and radically change the franchise overnight. These things take time.

Part of the reason the nets are in this position is because of how the Russian was obsessed to try and get them deep into the playoffs at all costs. Look at them now.

Not saying he has to rush things but this is the first off season since owning the team that he finally has to make some decisions about the actual product on the floor instead of solely focusing only on the game time experience for fans attending a game in Staples Center. The only thing he's done so far was add a mascot, laser lighting pregame show, more wifi, etc in Staples, etc. Now we finally get to see if he's really about or better yet does he have the balls to make some actual basketball decisions for the first time since buying the team. That's all

Ballmer is pretty bullish, but tbh I don't see Ballmer making any moves personally...at least nothing major. He just doesn't have the mind for the basketball stuff just yet. He is a smart guy and his best move is to get smart people around him. Part of the reason Doc was the GM because really who was Ballmer going to hire? The whole situation with the clippers is finally starting to settle to a point in where the organization can finally be run as a competent NBA franchise.

IMO, I think Ballmer really needs about 5 years MORE to finally get this shyt in order. IMO, Paul should walk...the team needs to bottom out completely. 2-3 years in the lottery will do this franchise some good. Team is old, can't win as constructed and tbh is not fair to DeAndre, Blake or CP3 at this point in their careers. They are all solid pieces that can contribute to a team right on the edge...neither of them are #1 options IMO, but solid solid #2

Am I hoping that happens? Nah, I want Melo off the knicks lol.

I hear what you're saying but Ballmer knows basketball more than he leads on plus his good ole Microsoft chum Paul Allen, who owns the TrailBlazers, advises him. Agreed on our aging players and drafting players but Doc isn't about developing players outside of his son. He can't draft, make a decent trade, develop, acquire quality free agents, scout overseas, etc. He's gotta go before anything type of youth movement can take place. He needs to go period. He's been an abomination as GM of the team

The Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks are expected to return to their trade talks centered on Carmelo Anthony.

The two sides discussed trade scenarios involving Jamal Crawford and Austin Rivers for Anthony, but Crawford could instead be replaced by J.J. Redikk in a sign-and-trade. Redikk is 32 compared to the 37-year-old Crawford and is also a better fit for the triangle.

Redikk would have to agree upon the deal as he's a free agent.

"It was a tough series for him," Doc Rivers said of Redikk.

If the two sides expand the deal, Courtney Lee could also be included heading with Anthony to the Clippers.

Anthony indicated to the Knicks at the deadline that he was agreeable to Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Clippers and Blake Griffin hope to agree upon a maximum deal. The Clippers can offer Griffin a five-year deal worth approximately $175 million while a rival team can offer $130 million over four seasons.

Austin Rivers played 38 minutes in a Game 7, scored 9 points on 12 shots, had 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 turnovers, and even managed one of his vintage dribble and fall down on the floor plays. Doc Rivers giving this fukkin crumb $11 million and serious playing time is some of the most criminal nepotism ever.
As someone who has seriously tried to play basketball at a high level, how does seeing Austin Rivers make millions of dollars at being inept in The NBA make you feel? I'd have a permanent :francis: face.

Because CP3 monopolizes the ball and basically turned Blake into a more athletic David West.

If you're going to have the ball as much as CP3, you better be able to have blackout scorer moments and he just doesn't. Of the dudes in the top 10 for touches per game, he's the only one that didn't average 20ppg. Put it like this, he touched the ball more than Isiah Thomas yet averaged 10 less ppg and only 4 more apg, is that really what a team should want? The guy with the ball most is a sometimes scorer.

That's what a pass-first point guard is--a sometimes scorer who has the ball most of the time. The thing is that a great pass-first/playmaking type player, seen in a negative light, hides the deficiencies of players rather than elevates their game. This can be seen most closely in LeBron's pre-Miami era where the playmaking LeBron was able to consistently get Cleveland high seeds before ultimately failing in the playoffs because his team didn't have a dynamic player. And the Clippers are anything but dynamic. None of their players can play outside of their role except Paul, and even that is on rare occasions.

If Jordan and Griffin had come close to their potential, given their size and athleticism, then Paul's style of play would've been vindicated in the playoffs. Unfortunately, Jordan plays the same way he always has, and Griffin has regressed from his high-flying days.
