Majority thinks that the Warriors will take this one pretty easy. I beg to differ (with my silver and black glasses on). Curry, Klay, and KD are going to get theirs. But this is the series where I think the offseason moves of not having any effective bigs and less depth on the bench, is going to come back and haunt the Warriors. The Spurs will go big with LMA/Pau/Lee. Which means that Zaza or McGee will have to play outside the paint and guard LMA in the midrange and Pau beyond the arc. Not to mention that in the past Harrison Barnes and random ass Barbosa would always be the ones to come up big vs the Spurs, who no longer are on the bench for the W's.

2 great defensive teams going at it. Hopefully we get a good semi finals series with close scores.

Spurs in 6. GoSpursGo

Spurs take homecourt, 1 and 7. Lebron sweeps the spurs in the finals or cavs in 5

Dallas by way of Houston by way of San Antonio
even if kawhi comes back healthy (a bigger if than most realise) i can't see this going more than five games:yeshrug:

great defender but he can't guard three top 10 players at once

But if they run a lineup with Klaw, Green and Simmons, that's enough athleticism to make a difference.

LMA and Draymond basically played to a draw on opening day. :gucci:

And why can you go to the very first game a team plays together and think it means anything at all?

I think Kawhi can hold his own against Durant. And you can hope that Aldridge can come up against Draymond, though the way I hear every Spurs fan talk about Aldridge, I know how much you are really going to be thinking that possible.

So tell me how Patty Mills going to offset Curry.

Tell me how Danny Green going to offset Klay.

And then you have the bench on top of that.

The only way the Spurs win any games is if Warriors completely shyt the bed, or Pop goes all-in on some next-level GOAT coaching.

Yea you right, Spurs have no shot of even keeping this close. Dont even know why anybody would wanna watch this series.

I feel like Pop is going to come up with a semi-optimal (that's as best as you can hope for) way of defending the Warriors and Cleveland is going to copy it and use it to beat the Warriors. I know they don't have the same personnel but there's something to be said about Pop exhausting his resources for an optimal strategy and you having a chance to implement that afterwards.

This happened last year. In their March 19th game they basically switched every PNR, every other team from Minnesota to Boston to Cleveland used it to defend them and the Warriors really weren't as good for the rest of the year.
Both Minnesota and Boston beat Golden State at Oracle and we all know Cleveland won the chip. Minnesota actually starting switching every PNR for the rest of last season and looked pretty good, picking up road wins at Portland, Sacramento and NOLA.

Underrated post: Cavs need to watch Pop's defensive schemes intently, for better or worse. Lue needs to throw that blitzing scheme to the garbage when he hits the Finals, no ones trying to see repeats of 2016 Games 1 and 2.

Agreed.

That Blitzing works great against teams with one or 2 scoring options.

But against great shooting teams that move the ball it's a recipe for disaster.

The biggest example is the Heat vs Spurs in 14.

All that aggressive trapping left too many good shooters open.
