But Putin knows Obama is out at 16 no matter what. So like I said, he knew he was on his way out the door.

Why you think Putin waited until 2014 to do it? Why didn't he do it in 2012? Or 2010? Or 2008? Cause he knew if he did it then, he was going to have to deal with Obama administration for x amount of years, and he might have ended up having his ashes scattered over the same ocean bin laden did. So he waited to 2014...cause he knows elections are coming up in 2016...and obama is out no matter what...and obama was not going to start some ware with Russia and then turn it over to another president...

My understanding is he

Doesn't want Ukraine joining Nato and minimize Western influence in the region

Wants to control the oil flow $$ and prices they receive coming in through Ukraine

He tried to pump fake but nobody jumped so now he feels he gotta shoot
