The key word is Large LAND MASS, Africa, is in the Atlantic Ocean, and the Indian ocean at the same time, it's large mass enough to distinguish it form Asia with a clear natural border of The Indian Ocean, one small connection won't change that

Europe is too small to be a considered it's own Continent, it's smaller than India which isn't considered a continent
